Lineage
Part of Alpha Chapter's history is a legacy of incredibly strong, ambitious and successful women. While at the University at Albany, these women worked diligently to address issues that plagued their communities. They worked with local organizations to establish programs and were not afraid to address issues or encourage debate on controversial topics that other shied away from. Our members worked to make a difference, they worked to positively impact their communities and in doing so built strong leadership, mentoring and organizational skills. Most importantly, they developed an impenetrable bond with each other - a sense of loyalty to each other and to our organization that remains strong today.Their committment to excellence was not limited to serving their communities. Their dedication to success in all their endeavors has resulted in great personal and professional accomplishments as well. Professionally, the women of Alpha Chapter have gone on to play an integral role in politics, health, education, entertainment, business, and law. Each has also achieved a great measure of success in accomplishing their personal goals, one of which is their lifetime committment to Omega Phi Beta and their strong ties to its Alpha Chapter.
The success of any organization can often be measured with the success of its members; past and present. Their contribution to their communities, and to each other of equal importance. Looking ahead to the future we can commit to continued excellence by carefully building the next generation of Alpha Chapter Sisters. These chosen women of the future who will embrace our legacy, continue our traditions and ensure that Alpha Chapter remains strong, resilient and home for all the women that pledged their hearts to this chapter.
